How would you describe your style? Line and form. Elemental and direct. Honesty of material.

Do you remember the first thing you made? I made a small 3 shelf wall mount piece in high school woodshop.

Before I started making I… I worked in a metaphysical bookstore.

If I weren’t a maker I’d be... A photographer.

If I could run away I’d go… On a long road trip through the desert in the southwest. Hiking the canyons and peaks.

If you could collaborate with one person dead or alive who would it be? Wharton Esherick

What would be on your maker’s soundtrack? Gram Parsons, Hank Williams, Bob Dylan, early Miles Davis.

If you could learn a new skill what would it be? Baking bread.

What’s your favorite movie? Babette's Feast

What is your perfect day? Cycling in the AM, playing pétanque in the afternoon, mushroom risotto and a great Pinot for dinner.

Last book you read? A Gentleman in Moscow

Favorite artist? Picasso

Favorite scent? Sawn walnut

Favorite Flower or Tree? The camphor tree in my front yard.

What do you see outside your bedroom window? The sunrise on our Japanese maple.

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met? John Denver

What was the last gift you gave someone? I gave my sweetie a paella cooker.

If money was not a factor how would you live your life? I would travel to all the most beautiful natural places in the US

Any hidden talents? I like to sing

Where did you grow up? In the suburbs of Chicago, Denver, and LA.

Favorite time of day? Meal time.

Favorite holiday? 4th of July in Sonoma

What song best describes your work ethic? Too Many Pretty Women to Love Just One by the Dusty Chaps

What are you currently watching? Better Call Saul

What are you most thankful for? My daughter, who trained me as a father and taught me to love.
