 How would you describe your style? A cross between mid-century and depression era necessity.

Do you remember the first thing you made? It was a key fob that was a pattern out of Martha Stewart Living. It looked like a kid made it at summer camp. The key fob is good…but what started my wanting to make things started with a “Take A-Part Truck”…still have it as an inspiration.

Before I started making I… I was a professional photographer shooting still-lifes and interiors.

If I weren’t a maker I’d be... A farmer.

Favorite quote or words to live by: There are no mistakes. Just a lesson and sometimes it turns into a new direction.

If I could run away I’d go… To Australia

If you could collaborate with one person dead or alive who would it be? My father…so he knew I listened and learned.

What would be on your maker’s soundtrack? For work: Classic rock. As a metaphor: Woody Guthrie.

If you could learn a new skill what would it be? Metalwork

What’s your favorite movie? The Pope of Greenwich Village

Last book you read? Unfaithful Music and Disappearing Ink by Elvis Costello

What would your last meal be? Steak frites

Favorite artist? Dorothea Lange

Favorite scent? Grass, freshly cut.

What do you see outside your bedroom window? A catalpa and a maple tree

What do you hear right now? Bee Gees

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met? Mr. and Mrs. Reagan

What was the last gift you gave someone? A friend of a friend came to a party. She loved what I made…so I gave her a cuff.

Best piece of advice you have ever received? Do what makes you happy because you only have this one life.

Where did you grow up? Rosedale, Queens, NY

What is your most treasured possession? Two knives and sheaths my father hand made as a deep see diver in WWII.

What is your favorite family tradition? I miss the large family dinners on Sunday with all my Italian relatives.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? The ability to travel back in time…and maybe even to the future, just to make sure.

What song best describes your work ethic? I won’t back down by Tom Petty

Most interesting thing in your liquor cabinet? A shot glass I stole from the Playboy Club in New Jersey while on a high school trip my friends and I planned.

What are you most thankful for? My wife and my parents having me.
